Array has an insanely shallow company pyramid -- if you're thinking about advancing with the company, don't. You're not going anywhere. I'm serious. They shed great talent because there's nowhere to go and on the rare occasions that they do promote, they promote from outside. Given that you can make $15/hr sliding stuff across a scanner at Target, pay is poor for what's expected. No support from management, who is usually trying to curry favor with those above them but completely oblivious to what is going on in the dept. The minimum, COLA raises. Depends a lot on temp help; loves to outsource to India labor. No processes whatsoever, so you're learning on the fly but held to departmental standards. Nice bennies and PTO, except when you leave and they don't pay you what you've banked. Good bennies. No processes, poor pay/raises, poor management. They intentionally break their temp to hire workers physically, their assembly line is brutal and they fire in lots based upon race. Companies like this shouldn't exist, the office workers seem happy enough watching hordes of people work till their hands are bloody. Absolutely none. Manager and coworkers are nice and helpful in Quality department. Typical 12 hour shifts but there were voluntary over times. Each shift seems to fly by. Again, Array Technologies Inc. is a fast paced company. A typical work day in production is to obtain the proper documents for the day, inspect and prep my machine, check and record that I have the correct material, inspect the material, load machine and get to producing. In production you are generally assigned a certain machine. This is done so that the operator can get very familiar with her or his machine. You learn its sounds and temperament. Sound changes are the best way to know that something is wrong. When management become comfortable with your work it is very rare that you see them. The only real stress happens when you get bad material and struggle to make quota. But having reasonable management, they understand if you don't or can't. What I liked most was that you were always busy. In production there is no idle time. Meals were provided every now and then; snacks and beverages were provided daily.
