A typical day at Lane Bryant as a former Key Holder included (but not limited to) Opening store (doors, registers, lights, music) Working on customers orders (could order online and have in-store pickup) Greeting customers, building rapport with the customer, merchandising I learned a lot through this company. A major lesson I learned is that not everyone is for you and that's okay! There were a few who made the workday a lot better and a few who were just kinda miserable and rude (for no reason.) Being a part of the management team had its perks! Although we went through a transitional time for upper management, it wasn't all that bad. I had to coach and mentor and that is something that I loved to do! Although it had its perks, it also had its downs, as does every company, but lets just say that you weren't really able to take an actual lunch break. Had to be quick if you were going to eat! (At the location I was at at least) The culture was top tier! I don't have anything negative to say about that! I would say the hardest part of the job itself is that it is customer service 100%. If you don't have somewhat of a tough shell, it could break your spirit. Learn to take everything with a grain of salt. For myself the most enjoyable part of the job was my customers that I had grown to know and learn. Also I had some pretty awesome co-workers!! Coworkers at the store were a good team, and the manager was good with scheduling. And the positive thing is that you learn a lot and the clothes sell very well, and the clients are very good buyers. And my boss was an excellent leader.
