Great Company, Fun Work Environment, Moving in the Right Direction

I have been working at AutoWeb (formerly Autobytel) full-time for less than a year
|
I've been here a few months and am already loving working here. I've never worked anywhere that prioritizes collaboration between departments so much, and focuses on making sure we all know how important our roles are in the company's overall success. They hired a new CEO about a year ago and he brought in a totally different leadership team. It sounds like the prior management teams neglected the company for too long....
|
Due to previous poor leadership, the company is not in a great financial situation. That said, there have been drastic improvements in the past year, and it's now on the right path to be successful.

Online marketing for automotive industry is not as lucrative as it used to be.The new exec mgmt do not practice what they preach.Lots of management changes and favoritism.People are talking behind each other’s back.It is all about numbers, not people.

It has provided some great short position opportunities since I left! Bravo, Autobytel!

It was an awful place that I should have left many years prior. I spent WAY too long here and wasted too many good years working for these people that fancied themselves a leadership team, and even attempted to call themselves my friend on occasion. The executives make FAR too much given their success rate - check the filings for their astronomical comp packages. Must be nice to not worry about succeeding at much of ANYTHING and be guaranteed that kind of income.According to the federal cost of living index, I received a pay DECREASE for every year that I worked at Autobytel, and I was there a while. Employee appreciation and reward for hard work and ambition were few and far between in my circles. YMMV.
