Unlimited PTO and good work life balance.

Lack of structure within the company, with no clear direction from management. Low pay and barely there raises. Work culture is very impersonal and supervisors do not really care.

Avid Employees Going Through Difficult Times

The people at Avid are great to work with -- top to bottom.
The company's products are industry standard and highly rated by customers.
Great company culture and work environment.
There is unlimited PTO.
|
Avid was purchased by a private equity firm in 2023 and jobs are being slashed left and right. It makes for a very difficult work environment because everyone feels like they're waiting for the other shoe to drop. Until that all gets sorted out, I would not recommend to anyone that they take a job there.

Transparency with senior non-manegement level staff; years and years of empty promises of salary increases that never came; bonuses that were not paid and constant overwork and excess of travel hours just to fulfill the KPI goals, have allowed most of the know how to leave the door to work for other companies in the industry.

Top-notch tech (I was on the audio side, e.g. Pro Tools)
Great peers, fun to work with
Good support from local managers despite underfunded projects
Remote work possibilities

Projects are chronically understaffed
Out-sourcing key engineering is ubiquitous and questionable value in the long term for such complicated tech.
STG takeover seems to be a disaster, with no vision of what Avid will be in the future. They appear to be gutting the company, in typical Private Equity takeover mode. Key talent is being given notice.
