Great company with great perks, but wasn't a great fit for me....
|
|
Great work environment & culture, amazing deck with beautiful views of Boulder, relaxed atmosphere and attire, pretty much the coolest workplace I've ever experienced.
|
The products they made weren't products I typically bought. I'm not vegan, vegetarian, GF, diabetic, etc. So it's hard to really immerse yourself in a brand you aren't truly passionate about. I enjoy eating healthy, but I also indulge in some brands that aren't the epitome of health, wellness, or mind/body consciousness. Finding work "buddies" was a bit of a challenge for me as well, likely because of this factor. I just didn't have a ton in common with the people in this company. However, it paid extremely well for me being a consultant/contractor and I have little complaints about my overall experience. It was an awesome opportunity while I was there.

Con - I was originally hired on as a possible temp-to-perm freelance consultant. While there was no guarantee I would get FT—I felt I was somewhat strung along that I'd eventually get it. I think my client/manager really did want this for me, but for various reasons, it didn't work out. With that said, the expectations of my role were not what I feel as "best practices". I was generally required to work M-F 8–5 every week, I had to "ask" my client if it was okay to leave early, I was given a progress report from this person, which is basically a FT employee—just without any of the amazing perks or benefits. Looking back, I obviously something should've spoken up sooner, however I was doing so in hopes I would get hired on full-time. And I honestly didn't completely understand the laws for this type of position at the time.
Pros - I did appreciate some of the upper management transparency when I was there. The weekly company meetings were nice for the size of the company. But as it grew larger, those became harder and harder to crowd into the kitchen and patio. It was a great way to give a shout out & recognize those who did well on some project, and to update everyone on the expansion of each brand. Very cool culture, as I mentioned previously.

Flexible hours, free lunch, beautiful office

Misdirection, not a clear business plan, quality issues, and lots of out of stock problems. Upper management is sexist.

Great people, Working there through an acquisition makes things interesting. Best office in Boulder. Everyone takes time to make it fun to work there. Great at looking after each other and teaching each other.
|
Definitely have to fight for your own or you'll get pushed into a corner and forgotten about. Make yourself irreplaceable.

Management was pretty much all brand new as of July 2015, and i think they forgot that they all had about 30 people answering to them. Way under qualified to lead that big of a time.

Loved My Job!

This was a great place to work. Friendly people, great benefits, good salary, beautiful corporate office with an awesome view.
|
The company replaced 1/2 of the NJ employees in the corporate office in Boulder so I was displaced.
