Place is fun to work with and never a old same day. The job is preventative and always kept prude of what it is. I wish I could stay lo ger cause the people over there are super nice.

Was once a great place to work- but between attrition and the business split with 2Seventy, the place is in bad shape.

A company that does a lot of talking (or as they would put it chirping), and not a lot of walking. Their activism, advocacy, and cultural competencies are largely performative. Bluebird bio may be "first-in-class" in some ways, but it's not the place where something "best-in-class" is produced.
|
Not many i'm afraid, at least until the new facility opens in Assembly Row.
|
Poor work/life balance, color-blind and tone-deaf executive and leadership team, little opportunity for growth or career development.

There are a lot of smart, dedicated people who work here, and they are easy to work with. Burnout and attrition rates are very high though. Schedule is not practical at all. Company refuses to hire enough people, and then they wonder why people leave. I raised concerns about workload, and they were ignored by multiple managers until I resigned. Then they seemed interested in helping me out.

Great work culture
|
On-site visits were always a treat. Great to see the diversity of cultures and hear different languages spoken. Cafeteria on the top floor gave a great view of the surrounding area.
