Managers here genuinely care about the growth and development of their employees. They are approachable and supportive. The HR department is exceptional. I could see they try their best to create a positive and inclusive environment at work and they are prompt in resolving any issues that arise. Overall, CBMG is a supportive and growth-focused company that truly values its employees. The leadership team is exceptional, the HR department is helpful, and the opportunities for learning and advancement are abundant.

One of the main challenges is the fast-paced growth which can create uncertainty and confusion among employees. Managers should be more proactively manage these challenges.

Stimulating work environment w/cutting edge frontier technology and platforms. Friendly coworkers and management. Plenty of room for growth and challenges with each pposition. TONS of cultural diversity, a large majority of the staff is Chinese with several other ethnic backgrounds represented. Also, the benefits are top notch. Competitve pay and great Healthcare.

New hire on-boarding isn't as cohesive as I'd expect. The first few months are difficult because of the start up small company vibes and the lack of structure is apparent. Depending on your group you'll get a varied amount of guidance and support. For development lab groups, There's relatively no structure and each group is run by an individual that chooses how they want to run their dept as they see fit. Sometimes that means no oversight and high expectations for performance. The Gmp manufacturing group on the other hand is overseen by qa/qc and is tightly controlled with lots of training and guidance. It depends on where you land. Not all depts are created equal.

Be more proactive with procedures and how you handle staff, rather than just reactive. I've noticed that because there aren't extra hands to support growth initiatives a lot of time the management doesn't have the bandwidth to be hands on. They get silohed and separated from the floor and it becomes difficult to communicate observations or deliver results. It'd be helpful to have management more involved in the risk based processes. Also, HR seems woefully underdeveloped and not as involved as you'd expect. They seem to take guidance from Shanghai and the Chinese leadership but that means laggy support. It would've been nice to have a more functioning HR dept to help with the day to day needs of the staff.

The company is great if you want an amazing work life balance. Everyone is friendly and nice and are eager to help you. The benefits are great. The managers are easy to talk to and are very understanding. 10/10 would recommend to apply and work here!

It’s a bit overwhelming with the amount of material that needs to be covered if you are new to the biotech field. But along every step there is someone to help you. The on-site trainings will be very frequent and very long, expect being on your feet half of the day, but time flies by so fast because you will be engaged in all activities.
