Some people are genuinely good, but almost always unhappy. You can't help feeling bad for them.

Buyer beware! There are only two types of reviews here: extremely bad reviews, and extremely good ones. That can only mean one of two possible realities: either CareDx is the greatest place to work, and there just happen to be dozens of misfits in all departments (in a small company of 200 people); or it's actually a bad place, with fake good reviews manufactured by HR.
Which scenario is more like? You be the judge.
Another piece of data, look on LI website and see how long is the average tenure of employees. There are MANY in sales, marketing, customer care, lab operations who did not last longer than 18 months (some quit in less than 6mons). Maybe these were the same misfits who couldn't figure out why CareDx is a 5-star company with the best culture? Maybe it's all their fault, and none of the company?

Great place to work. Careful about social distancing. Lots of opportunities. Allows people to transfer roles and gain new experience. Growing constantly. Expanding products. Challenging.
|
Feels disorganized and non-transparent at times. Likely due to fast growth and constant priority changes. It’s like the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. It’s global with many people working on their own from home full time. So many are just doing what they think we are supposed to be doing without any structure or guidelines. Sounding cliche again but “Flying by the seat of our pants”.

Still some great people, the pay is ok

With Covid, it became even more apparent how little management cares about their employees. All employees were forced back into the office or encouraged to use their vacation since 'our vacation plans will probably have fallen through'. Employees were only informed about positive Covid cases weeks later. It is unclear when management knew about these cases, but this happened several times. At best, they did not have proper controls to keep employees safe. Many good people left the company, which did not stop the company from pushing their agenda.
There is no room for critical voices. HR is used to enforce the decisions of upper management.
A big part of management lacks the necessary hard and soft skills to manage the company. Employees will have to tailor to ideas of management whose understanding seems limited to some buzz words and that will show no interest in your expertise.
Some of the latest positive reviews were likely encouraged by HR.

It is a very toxic environment. There is no collaboration, no transparency whatsoever. Lots of bullying, blaming, calling names, fighting for credits. Backstabbing is the prevailing culture here. A small number of people contribute most of the work, but are surrounded by lots of incompetent people taking away the credits.
Upper management is very arrogant. Mid level managers either are too afraid to push back or are simply ignored. Employee feedback is never taken seriously. HR definitely do not represent employees, only eager to please upper management. The unbelievably positive reviews on glassdoor are most likely their masterpiece.
Absolutely terrible response to COVID19 as a company, there is no respect for people's safety at all. It's hard to believe this is a 'patient care' company.

This is the worst employer I have ever had. There is a toxic work environment where employees are treated as objects and squeezed for everything they’ve got. The work culture is that of bullying, intimidation, blame and humiliation. A large majority of managers lack the experience, skill or training to manage others. Many mid-level managers are under tremendous pressure from upper management to attain unrealistic goals. The company is reactive and disorganized and this pervades most departments. There is no work-life balance and no respect for people’s home life or safety. The company has a cult-like feel where no one dares speak out against upper management.

Being an MSL at CareDx has been a wonderful experience. There is a great amount of support for the MSLs. We are always encouraged to share our ideas with the leadership team. Great work life balance. Great work environment, very positive. I love the work culture and the friends I have. The head of medical affairs is a great mentor to all of us. Our CEO and President are extremely supportive and very down to earth.
