I received almost no training, no employee review, and no help during my training period
|
I was hired for a 2 week probationary period. Received very little training, and no employee reviews from my supervisor, or help. Items were often out of stock or misplaced when picking orders, and I would have to stop and go report these issues to management, which affected my performance in picking orders. At the end of my probation period I was told they weren't seeing any improvements without offering any kind of help or training during my probationary period.

Cool people, fun work environment but there is a seriously gap in work/life balance. For an outdoor company, they sure love trapping their employees inside. Also classic outdoor company, poor wage with very little growth.

Very good place to work. The hour are good but take awhile to get used to. The people there will become your good co-workers. Very simple Jobs to. You are doing it for 10 hours straight 4 days a week.

No work life balance
|
The best part about working for black diamond, was working with passionate outdoor enthusiasts such as myself.
The work was usually straight forward, and simple. Good benefits, and perks such as employee discounts. The pay was insufficient, for your labor.
The management was good in terms of being there to help resolve work related problems, and willing to teach you new things. When it came to promotions, it was more work for little to no more compensation.
To sum it all up. You don’t work for black diamond to start a career, you do it for the experience, and discounts on gear.

Best Coworkers, poor leadership

The people who work here are some of the coolest climbers, skiers, etc. Truly some of the coolest coworkers you can have. Leadership is almost exclusively men, and they can be pretty 'old guard.' Pay is typically very low and the best performance raises are not anywhere close to covering inflation increases.

Don't waste your time!
|
I was under the impression they care for the people they hire, I was WRONG!! They are bringing in new people at the same pay rate people who have worked here for 10 plus years are making!! They lack proper training, equipment to do the job correctly. It's all about the numbers they say quality but no it's the numbers. There is ZERO communication. The turnover is unreal, be people every week that last about a week maybe 2 then they leave.
