Some people are nice, decent PTO, the ability to leave for a better job. If you have no need for money and like to be constantly annoyed, this would be a nice place to work.
|
Culture is terrible. Lowest pay in MA biotech. Claims to value DEI but only promotes people of certain races. Major lack of employee development, uneven and unfair expectations, small percentage raises that don't come close to rate of inflation so you're losing money doing the same pay. High turnover because everyone new either hates it and leaves, or uses it to work somewhere better.

Gives you experience in biotech. If you live in Fall River then it’s probably a good commute compared to Boston. Decent benefits considering location.

Seems as though the higher ups are completely oblivious to the high turn over rate in QC. Apparently a total of 8 people have come and gone through the same position there in a year or two. However, their management never seems to face any questioning for this. Have heard many complaints about only the more senior employees being taken seriously when it comes to needing support. Most feedback is never actually used and enforced. Very typical “you’re at the bottom and have do the grunt work” and “we did it with less so you have nothing to complain about” mentality from an older generation. Low pay for industry. Most positions have a starting salary of $10k-$20k less than market value. The only departments that seem happy and fulfilled are QA, MFG, AD, and Research.

Notice patterns. If there is high turn over, then you need to do some self reflection because you are the common denominator here not the employees. One or two people is different. But 8? That’s a clear sign something needs to change. Also, when the only people who are content are those who have already climbed the ladder and mainly delegate as their job, then that’s saying something. It should be a work ecosystem. Every job plays a part. Having a lower tittle shouldn’t mean getting the short end of the stick and doing all the grunt work. Their management needs to get their hands dirty and step in when asked for help not when people are half way out the door. Other departments have noticed the high turnover.

Great environment to continuously learn and grow professionally. Management is very encouraging and wants you to succeed. Management is also very transparent and open to opinions/suggestions. Doors are always open for questions and feedback and there is never a feeling of judgement or negativity. This job gives me the ability to have good work-life balance and work in an environment where I feel like I belong.

Great board with a devout CEO. They have a great handle on how to move forward in a very dynamic environment. The work culture is amazing, you always are greeted in the hallways with smiles and good mornings, we get together talk and laugh at lunch and even go for walks and play games when the weather is nice. The company is understanding with work / life balance and for the most part, from my experience, employees are able to accomplish very important home-life, or career driving goals outside of their time at work with the flexibility to come to work and fulfill their weekly activities. Working for a smaller company like Celldex I feel like a big part of something small, leading to my work acting as a major catalyst in their future success.

Outside of Boston so salaries are typically lower than the running average in Ma. Phase II company with potential but may not be for the risk averse.

Poor management, low pay, expect to be rushed through training and have to " be a team" every time the more senior employees don't want to clean up what they need to. Any feedback falls flat and is not taken seriously. The teams culture involves passive aggressiveness ," ball busting" and joking about things that are not appropriate. Zero diversity - mistakes are poorly tolerated and management favors only those they like. A revolving door.

Upper management needs to be actively involved in the training, not depend on newly trained analysts to do the training of incoming staff for them. Management needs to not act with favorability to specific employees. Management could ensure there is equity in the lab responsibilities and that the whole team works to achieve monthly goals. Condescending comments and mannerisms or personal jabs in the form of " joking" - are simply unprofessional. Seek feedback from your analysts and follow through with what they need to thrive.
