The market that Clearfield operates in is extremely volatile. As soon as profits start to fall, get ready for lay offs. This is a company that does not care about their employees. The benefits are terrible, the health insurance is extremely expensive and no parental leave is offered, among other things. If you're thinking of working here, just know that you are expendable unless you're one of the overpaid executives or upper management.

Salary was average and the hours are good. I was able to learn what not to do and take to my next job. I like the stand up desks and the labs were fun if you needed to print and assemble.

Everyone related to each other. The CEO, COO and VP Engineering are related and all the COO family works for the company. The COO runs the company and no decision is made in engineering for design or management unless the COO comes up with the idea on his own. He controls everything and is a bully if you are not related or part of his inner circle. It feels like you work for a family business run by a high school bully. The CEO and the COO are related so there is little company professionalism or corporate oversight like most companies. If you have an type of issue, it was best to stay quiet or you became targeted. Not an open culture if you were not part of the family or old friends that work there.

I liked working there but too much family and influence. I could not do any work without feeling stupid for new ideas. If my design was something that was not created by the COO, I was told it was bad.

I was hired for order entry. There is no training or documentation available to help learn the process. The "trainer" was awful. She was rude when I asked questions. If mistakes were made she would get angry.
