Challenging work environment

Corcept offers some decent benefits and a high salary for a reason. Corcept seems to think they offer the best benefits package, but many other companies in this space can offer better. The company is fraught with culture issues, low morale and management cannot/refuses to see the problem. Work life balance does not exist for the normal employee, but management is able to find the balance and utilize the “unlimited” PTO (unlimited is up to the determination of your manager). There are a number of nice colleagues here, but it is overshadowed by those who are willing to backstab and claw their way higher within the organization, be careful who you work with, as any one person is willing to throw you under the bus for their benefit. Many managers use micro aggressions to push individuals under their control. The company continues to hire under qualified individuals into management roles, and is undergoing a high rate of turnover across departments. Management does not lead by example, and people are often bullied into staying, with management attempting to convince them that no other company has better culture or could offer better. Come here to learn if you’re new to industry but don’t stay too long, Corcept doesn’t always make the correct decisions and you may end up learning bad habits (both soft business skills as well as day to day work).
