Most toxic and demoralizing employer for whom I have worked
Make some very close friends there as we bonded over the toxicity and abusive nature of the CEO and his assistant. My immediate supervisor was incredible.
Micromanaging CEO to the extent he has a photo album of Christmas decorations and makes sure they are put up in the same place in the same way every year. Employees are asked to do jobs they are not qualified for. I maintained all state licenses to sell product nationwide. I had no experience in this field; therefore, I had to train myself which required using Google. CEO complained to HR questioning my work ethic because I was playing on "the Google" every time he walked by my desk. And yes, he walks around the office multiple times a day and looks at people's screens to keep tabs on what everyone is doing. Still stuck in the - low pay but pizza parties are a way to make it up- mentality. There is wide speculation with ex staff that the one 4 star review is from his assistant who is just as toxic as he is. I've been out of Cumberland and in my new job for less than two years, and I have already almost doubled my salary and received multiple promotions. You can find better than this company, and if you must take a job here know that they demoralize everyone that works there. It is not you or your quality of work. It is the most toxic leadership from a CEO I have encountered in over 30 years of employment.

Worked for the company for some years. Most of the time, was on my own with zero support and no assistance. Supervisor was clueless, and hostile to new ideas that might have upset the CEO. Won’t even deign to say CEO’s name, because he didn’t give a diddly about employees ever.

A great place to work
Wonderful to work for a company with an A+ rating in drug safety. Excellent reputation. Overall, a great management team. Very pro employee. Employees work a hybrid work model if desired, part in the office and part remotely. Easy access to the offices and parking is a plus. Many holidays, frequent employee recognition, perks, and awards.
Salary is at lower mid-level.

Might as well hit your head against a brick wall

Great co-workers in the corporate office. The hours are typically the standard 8:30-5ish.
I've been at Cumberland for a while now. The micro-managing is now at the level of ridiculousness. In small companies, it is often necessary to wear many hats but they are REQUIRING people to take on jobs that they are unqualified to do and do not feel comfortable doing. Cumberland has given their employees the option of working remotely during the COVID-19 crisis but after 4-6 months of allowing this, they have now announced that if you have been working remotely, it will count against their performance review that effects pay raises and bonuses. The upper management here has no problems cussing you out or putting you down. A lot of mental games played by the CEO like asking you to call or stop by when he knows you're off work or on vacation just to see if you'll respond. This guy is a class act-NOT.
