Commission in smaller volume stores suck. Hard to make bonus. Staff is slim and theft is high. Usually, only one person works at a in a smaller store and this affects sales.

My team was amazing. My store manager was seriously the best manager I've ever had. The benefits were pretty good. I overall enjoyed the job itself and helping the customers. Definitely not the worst retail job I've had.

The company doesn't care too much about their employees. They wouldn't let us hire cashiers or stock associates at our store and instead made all of the commission sales people do all of the work. Before Covid our store had around 12-14 employees and after we were running the store with 4. Made for a bad work/life balance as I always felt overworked as we were doing everything in the store while also trying to sell and give our customers a good experience. I will admit the commission was nice with less sales associates but it got very tiring and exhausting trying to keep up with everything. When we asked for more help they said they would only hire a cashier or stock person for us if they were also on commission. Making us have to split our commission instead of having hourly cashiers and stock associates like pre Covid times. You could tell that they realized after Covid lay offs that they could get away with having less employees and working us harder. They just care about numbers and making money instead of giving their employees a good work balance. But what can you expect from corporate America?

My co-workers were excellent
My clientele was great

Terrible commision %
My store specifically had almost no back room at all so distribution was terrible.
The company bascially dumped everyone once the pandemic hit
Big and tall is available online and the in store customer is more rare then the online pick up, so there is less of a chance to upsell.

-Stores: operating hours are 10a-7p; no late nights in retail!
-Commissioned associates on average are making $4-$5 hour more above their base pay rates
