I wouldn't wish my experience with Equity Bank on my worst enemy. This company not only overworks its employees to the bone but also grossly underpays them for the exhausting labor they endure.
From day one, it was clear that management had little regard for the wellbeing of its employees. Instead of fostering a supportive work environment, they piled on task after task without a second thought to the mental and physical toll it took on us. There was never a moment's peace; it was a constant barrage of deadlines and demands that left us feeling drained and defeated.

There are polarizing reviews regarding this employer. To help filter through, it is good to know of an initiative to inflate the reviews on this site. Many newer employees are asked to submit a positive review. Due to many of these individuals having limited experience with this employer, these reviews are minimal and vague.
The more strongly worded reviews do offer valid experiences that may be helpful when considering this employer. These less than favorable reviews have begun to become more frequent due to a recent merger and acquisition where the workforce was reminded of the intensity of the negative behaviors. When not actively engaging in merger and acquisition activities, the workplace can be tolerable the further from the top one is. When learning the fundamentals of banking, this employer could be a stepping stone but not a likely enjoyable journey in career development.
A previous review mentioned curiosity as to why the board of directors are not more concerned with the unhealthy behaviors of leadership detailed on this site. It may be that the CEO, which is the top position of this employer is the board chair. This provides consistent opportunity to represent and speak for the workforce where a specific narrative can be delivered.
Additionally, with each unsavory review, one will see a response from the HR team providing an opportunity to discuss experiences via email. This is a good example of how this employer encourages overlooking boundaries. The reviews posted are anonymous for protection purposes while offering insight to an organization's culture primarily. Asking an anonymous communicator to reach out to discuss further is to underestimate the comprehension of the reviewers. While the offer appears to be genuine it is unlikely it was received as such given the theme of the majority of the reviews.

Get to know your staff. They notice when you never talk to them or ask them how they are doing. Don’t expect them to “read your mind.” Don’t assume you’re always right - even if you haven’t explained what you want from your employees. It takes time to understand people. That’s your job - not theirs!

Pay and the benefits you receive is not worth the hassle of working for this company. CEO refuses to talk about offering Maternity leave. And communication between departments is horrible. You don’t find out if something changed, till the customer is upset and asks why? Learn what you can and then leave to somewhere better.
