Very poor communication across the board! No 1:1's with the Director, no scheduled check-ins with other departments, only connected when we needed something which means that there were a ton of projects occurring without the knowledge of other departments. MS teams is the preferred method of internal communication but could be better utilized.

Take the good with the bad
|
|
Organization values it’s employees. Most employees have numerous opportunities to work cross functionally with various departments or within company initiatives. The Company is passionate about sustainability and their global footprint. The product is life changing and everyone who learns about water desalination and our role in it learns to love it. Since covid, the Company has mostly adopted a hybrid schedule and most departments have a lot of autonomy and flexibility. There are many great perks throughout the year as well. All employees get stock.

The Company is small and the work can become pretty stagnant and very repetitive. The executives have plans to grow the Company, but the roadmap is not at all clear. How growth will affect each department has not be defined. The Company has an incessant decree to change but is paralyzed by “doing what has always been done” mentality. There is a lot of talk about what can or should be done and very little execution. The efforts of change and automation are dumped on teams disproportionately and stress tends to be high as all teams are vying for scarce resources.
