Completely changed the job overnight and dumped massive amounts of work into our laps with no compensation. Haven't had a raise in 2 years. Customer Service Representative Bowling Green, KY USA If you want to talk nonstop it’s easy It’s hard to get ahold of anyone above you. It can take 2 weeks to get anyone to even reply to an email. Understaffed. But easy job if you can spend 8hours nonstop on the phone with upset customers. UnderstaffEd so the phone never ever stops ringing-not even for 5 minutes. Hold times always at least 45 minutes so already unhappy customers are heated by the time you speak to them. Most of the job is being independent and winging it because management is spread so thin. In my time the company went through several name changes and frankly countless leadership changes. My team moved under every department you can think of for seemingly no reason. Their reaction to the pandemic was offensive. Lots of layoffs happened which was expected, we worked from home for a couple months and then suddenly everyone had to be back in the office full time with no explanation. No one had the authority to advocate for at least a hybrid WFH schedule, it was the CEO's ruling as far as anyone could surmise. When someone in the building tested positive they would not tell anyone and would advise you not to tell anyone either, just contacted names you gave on your behalf and still wouldn't say who the person was or that they tested positive just a vague who did you talk to, it was ridiculous. We didn't get even a cost of living raise for 2 years, once we finally started asking we were told you had to make a pitch for why you deserved a raise and then it wasn't a guarantee. Lots of turnover which didn't affect my team much except when people were laid off that meant no one knew how to do their job and even if they ever decided to backfill no one knew how to teach a new person how to do the job so all these tasks over the years were just a big question mark because someone would leave and take their know how with them. It feels like Customer Service isn't appreciated by upper management. We are over stressed with issues and can't complete the minimum requirements of the job. The manager at my store was not kind or compassionate and was only interested in the goal for the day. The pay was extremely low.
