Unfocused and toxic
|
Nothing ever gets done. Meetings all the time to talk with multiple teams who are doing the same duplicative work and can’t agree on a way forward, meaning more time is spent trying to get a direction than actually doing anything. Politics is tiring and can become really toxic, burnout and underappreciation is everywhere. Used to be great until it wasn’t after all the stealth layoffs

Disgraceful Corporation That Cares More About Profits Than People
|
A typical day at work consists of miscommunication on policy and process from multiple different members of leadership. Major, job-impacting changes are handed down weekly from top-end corporate entities that have never performed the work to which they are making changes.
While the pay at this company is among the top in the local market, the company doesn't like paying its American staff fairly and is constantly looking for ways to cut entire teams and outsource those jobs overseas to countries where they can pay 5 or 6 workers per 1 U.S. Employee to do the same job for the same amount, but poorly.
The corporate leadership at Expedia Group has not hesitated to openly malign their own workers in company meetings that were meant to raise the morale of those very employees.
Workplace culture used to be fun and energetic pre-pandemic, but has shifted into a "gotcha" environment where leadership and other co-workers are constantly trawling the general workforce for reasons to report, reprimand and ultimately terminate employees in order to make themselves look better.
This company hides behind the guise of lots of "benefits", free soft drinks, and a never-ending carousel of unhealthy food handouts to distract from the absolute dumpster fire of a company you will work for by taking a job with Expedia.
Employee morale is non-existent among the hourly teams, and anyone who feels secure in their job at this company is delusional.
The most enjoyable part of the job is packing up and leaving at the end of the day.

The job is fun. It can be hard at times and very stressful. Management is wonderful. Pay and benefits are great. I've learned alot excelling my experience in customer support.

Fun work environment but limited opportunities

Expedia offered good work/life balance and fair compensation. There are also lots of company events if you're into that kind of thing.
The only con is there isn't a lot of room for growth in the Canadian offices.

I had a great experience at Expedia. The work-life balance is very good. Everyone is friendly and helps us. There are some social events and some team lunches which was great.

I've got the chance to work for Expedia for 6 months, and I'll tell you. It's dope for beginners because of how easy the tools are to navigate. Only flaws I see are irate customers, and complicated tweaks to resolve an issue that are not taught in training production.
