Great to work with potential clients who had not seen an inspection workflow performed with Laser and touch probing to gather data and then analyzed with metrology software. Immediate management was very supportive. Unfortunately was selected along with 500 colleagues to be terminated in an early 2020 workforce reduction. Very surprising as I exceeded 2019 sales goal by 1.5X. Executive staff is full of useless airheads who got those jobs by either being white, congenial, being with the company a long time (or a combination of all three). Middle management is more interested in keeping the status quo and not even put a semblance of risk in their jobs than implementing or pushing for any changes or suggestions worthwhile. Both executive and middle management are TERRIFIED of their act being blown and someone noticing there are smart, capable people at lower levels, so they absolutely hate sends an email or has a conversation with the higher hierarchy. CEO brought in a bunch of new people, which could have led to great changes, but instead they ended up listening to the same tired, clueless executive staff. HR is HR, there for the company's interests. A bunch of people have left on top of the massive layoffs at the beginning of the year. They let a lot of people go without any pattern or seemingly ever considering whom even wanted to stay and now are understaffed. In the middle of a global pandemic and possible recession and people are willingly leaving this company, arrive to your own conclusions. The pay and benefits were good(until they weren't). Micromanaging. Bad communication (they think quantity equals quality). It is a joke to have these inexperienced people serve as director and CTO who don't know how to perform their jobs. What they can guide the engineering team? It is completely a joke to have these guys serve in these important positions. it is the reason why FARO has so many problems in laser trackers. Same issues. Management is terrible. Huge layoff in February. No one had any notice. I had friends in other departments that were worse than mine. In accounting they said the same thing, management over there was awful, like high school. They said someone got mad and gave their two weeks last year and reported the director to HR for poor petty behavior making fun of other employees and favoring 3 or 4 employees. An investigation was done with select employees and they sold her being laid off as "restructuring". All except those favorite employees seemed to know about it, that department is a mess. They outsourced some of it and kept an employee who can't speak proper English and needs a professional speech class over experienced staff.
