Coworkers were great but a bit of a toxic work environment
|
A typical day at work:
clock in, go to the front, assist customers at "self checkout" which really isn't a self checkout at the end of the day, greet customers
What I learned:
i learned how to advocate for myself, tell my managers what was and wasn't working with me and they were very accommodating
Management:
my boss was very fun but it was almost impossible to tell if he was telling jokes or if he was being serious. overall, everyone was very accommodating to my needs which I am grateful for
Hardest part:
juggling the front area all by yourself. there's only 2-3 employees per shift and you're basically on your own up front and with a walkie talkie. you're supposed to assist EVERY customer at the checkout lines which is nearly impossible when it gets busy
Most enjoyable part:
my coworkers were always a joy to be with, besides when they were talking smack about others...

What is the best part of working at the company?
The other associates and some interactions with customers. Being able to help them.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The manager or more like a drill sergeant. She's straight forward, which can be good) but the way she uses her words can make you feel degrading.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is supposed to be, "let go and have fun". When I was there it was not that way.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day was first thing..pointing out what didnt get done the day before. No praises on what was done or how hard associates worked to try to get things done between customer service or other issues thats may have occurred throughout the. day

inconsistent hours don't know if your working 4,5, or 6 days a week outside of 2 months a year some management is alright others should have been fired worst safety and HR managers I've ever seen under paid for most roles in the building by far one of the worst companies I've worked for

Fun place bad policies
|
I loved the workers and meeting all sorts of people the only bad thing was the constant change in policies and the scolding’s you get for not picking them up fast enough. (Policies changed almost every shift)

It's not a horrible place to work, coworkers were great, but never enough hours to go around for everyone and not worth it for the amount of running around I did to get everything done.

Low pay and rude managers
|
No matter how long you work here or how good of an employee you are, the low pay stays the same. I got a 25 cent raise after almost 2 years here which was just straight up disrespectful. Managers are always finding every little thing to criticize you on, and you get to run around the store the whole shift doing every task all by yourself while being expected assist customers as well. Not worth it in my opinion.
