Supervisor Obetz, OH USA Good Pay and Opportunity for Advancement, Poor Benefits and Decisions from MGMT Pay is good. Benefits are not. Lots of turnover in management. Some managers are better than others. Lots of decisions that are made will leave you scratching your head. I mean there are some seriously goofy calls made and some dumbfounding practices enabled. It sometimes feels like there's a forcefield surrounding the place that deflects logic and reason and sense. Don't expect to be heard with your concerns and objections. Also get used to poor communication and training and forethought and planning. And when all this results in less than optimal results, be prepared for the execution or response to be blamed rather than the planning (or lack thereof). "Don't worry about why or how the mess was created and why messes continue to be made. The real problem is that you aren't cleaning the messes up well enough" seems to be the attitude. With the economy being as it is and looming automation, job security is in the air IMO. It's not hard to imagine a world in which such a business could begin to struggle. Work/life balance is fine most of the year. Expect to work significant OT in the holiday season. Job culture is poor to middling or average. There are some people (some of them being particularly nasty and/or incompetent and insufficient) that can seemingly get away with anything. It's a job. It has its pros and cons like everything else. I worked here about a year. It was awful! You will work a lot. No work life balance. Pay is low for the amount of work you have! No bonuses. No appreciation. Everyone is unhappy and looks miserable. You’re expected to work every weekend. People constantly quit because the workload. Mostly white employees. If you’re older they will fire you. If you’re colored, they think you’re not bright. No opportunity to move up, even though they will tell you there are opportunities. Management is very cliquey and rude! Pro, you do learn a lot. But not worth it. During the busiest seasons (Valentines Day and Mothers Day) if a florist dropped the ball and didn't deliver an order that was placed by the customer online the customer would call us extremely upset. To make matters worse the supervisor's that were there to help us resolve these conflicts wouldn't answer our calls for help. Truly brutal! We, as customer support representatives, were often thrown under the bus and would literally get no responses from Supervisor's when needed during the busiest part of the season. What a tragic way to treat a "valued employee"! One plus were the people I worked with. They were wonderful people that became my lifelong friends! Seriously...the best part of this job was the employees that worked there! Being recognized for great customer surveys. It's an easy job that pays fairly, but you likely won't be heard with your concerns. Some managers like to push every responsibility they have onto their supervisors, and sit in their office all day. Others think they're always the smartest in the room.
