I started with Firstmid about a year ago and have learned alot about my field of work. The management in my department is great and very helpful. My work schedule has been flexible and fair. I would recommend this company to work for. Bank holidays are great and i really feel that i am valued. I was going to “open a brand new branch” and how exciting that was! That took months. I asked for full time multiple times and it never happened. Though I respected the work ethic of my branch and assistant branch managers, they were awful to work for. The passive aggressive approach isn’t okay. Being talked to like you’re less than or unintelligent isn’t a way to manage people. I finally left after a year and I cannot even fathom how some employees have stayed as long as they have (not to mention being extremely underpaid at that) The turn over I’ve seen first hand and still hear about now makes complete and total sense. I worked here briefly and I must say it sounds great when you’re told how they work but once you work there you are treated poorly. They have no integrity, respect or honesty. I'd work in other departments, but I would absolutely avoid this one. Bad workers get rewarded and not reprimanded, good workers don't even get a thanks. Never felt so unappreciated at a job. Unless your single with no kids, get state aid, or just don't need insurance, it will cost you dearly.
