The worst place I have worked
|
If you have children, do not work here. If you have anything that may result in you needing to call in to work, do not work here. The managers do nothing. You will not get to take your lunch break at a consistent time, scheduling appointments is impossible, and all the employees hate their lives and will gossip about you. Their customer service is bad, and you will get paid very little to be yelled at all day.

The overall employee experience is extremely poor and they have lost a large population of good employees because of the very toxic environment.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The Retail Branch Staff who create superior client experiences, all while working severely short staffed, with minimal training, and minimal sales tools. Their ability to work through moment-to-moment challenges and make customers happy is amazing.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Leadership adding significant stress to all teams due to extreme short staffing. Lack of leadership vision, and leadership working in cliques.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a very negative culture. Tone is set from the top down. CEO trusts leaders who don't understand the business.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day for the majority of staff is extreme levels of multitasking, problem solutioning, and need to remove roadblocks in the moment. Managing daily schedules can be quickly derailed due to short staff or unforeseen circumstances.

My experience at Five Star Bank was absolutely Underwhelming. The company expectations that follow with the work load, do NOT match up to the pay. There is No Proper training. Many of the duties related to the job are self taught. Management is completely incompetent. The company pushes sales goals with NO LEGIT commission structure. If half of The consumers' knew of how unorganized it was behind the scenes, I'm sure they'd take their business elsewhere.

The under pay employees and the yearly raise isn't great. People who have been there for 15 or more years and making the same as people coming in. It's all about who you know not your work ethic. They randomly fire people who have been there many years because they eliminated the positions and care more about profit for their shareholders than the wellbeing or their employees.

You do well - they expect more. Drastic cut in managers is causing issues in all branches. High turnover rates with burnout for the staff who try. Other staff members can literally do nothing and get paid the same.

Great Co-workers but not paid for what you do

Five star bank is a wonderful environment and honestly I havent met a unfriendly co worker but you are NOT paid for what you do. They expect certified bankers to be managers of themselves, tellers, bankers, loan officers, and investment officers at the pay of less then tellers at other banks. They are a great place to start in your banking journey but not a place you can stay life long as a career. The best part of Five Star Bank truly is the coworkers you meet along the way.

Nice people but no room for advancement and huge discrimination problem. Was there for three years, came with extensive accounting background but was never considered for advancement. I believe they discriminate based on age.
