I moved up quickly to a GL role and stayed there until the lay offs. This is when the company got sloppy. They've pushed 3 buildings into 7 day work weeks nonstop, and they keep threatening to continue this trend and threatening working holidays if you don't produce parts or if they start running at risk of missing shipping deadlines. Not so much.. In general gentex is not an awful place to work, but their are a lot of issues with favoritism, and lack of strong leadership. The sad thing is despite having some amazing people there they tend to fail to capitalize on the strong work culture and tend to fail in showing their appreciation for the employees as we work 6-7 days a week. If you want a lot of hours this is not a bad place to be. The breaks tend to be short and the pay is less than competitive. All in all it's not awful but their are very many areas where improvement is necessary, otherwise it will continue on a path downward and continue to lose its employees.
