I called on healthcare providers (HCPs); physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses. Educated the clinical staff and the HCPs about the indications of the medications I represented. Left samples at clinics. Provided educational in-services and served as the product expert for the HCPs I called on. I learned that the vast majority of HCPs are kind, giving, and genuinely care about people. Additionally, I learned more about the physiology of the human body and certain disease states.

Great pay and mixed experience of leadership

Leadership was ok, but not sustainable. Similar story with company systems and procedures.
Personally I made a colossal amount of money due to the rising share price. Otherwise I would have left sooner

IBU is a train wreck and drug is not supported

Working in the IBU is an absolute ****show. Medications are essentially no longer supported via either samples or coverage, which makes selling a $3000 OTC medication difficult to sell. They have completely taken away the pay for performance culture that once was. Management is full on micromanagement asking why activity is low (post Covid) and work life balance is non existent. They tout they have employee flexibility for all, but that is complete false advertising. There are some good managers in the division, but a lot of them are corrupt as can be. Stability lies within the Rare Disease divisions not in IBU, just go read the financial statements and you’ll see where the future and loyalty of the company lies.
