Clean friendly enviornment

Typical Day, you wait for a machine to break, you repair it. Problem is most repairs are extremely repetitive.
Management is there but they still have their own goals, they are not very receptive to change.
Culture is good, everyone is friendly and respectful.
Hardest part is feeling valued when you are basically fixing the same machines with the same issues daily.

The people who work at this lab genuinely care about each other and the job. Management has gotten more supportive over the years.
Communication still needs work. Benefits are great. Hours are pretty good, some overtime. People are nice.

Poor management, very corporate- you’ll likely feel like just a number, little room for advancement. Day shift is good hours, but it’s m-f and you’ll have no work/life balance

The job itself is relatively flexible and the supervisors will work with you to help, mostly because they are desperate for employees. Most of the people that work here have more bad days than worse. It would be better if management listened to the employees. Management also loves to pick favorites. If you aren’t one, you’re not likely to go far, even if you bust your butt. Pay is decent, but doesn’t amount to all of the stress and suffering the company puts you through. Lastly, there is little acknowledgement for people who work extremely hard (doing way more than required) and no repercussions for any employee who underachieves and ignores policies.

Good things aren't meant to last.
|
As with most jobs, your happiness and success depend on how supportive your manager is. After a recent restructuring in my department, sales quotas are unattainable and upper management doesn't seem to care. Requests for additional resources fall on deaf ears, or take 6 months to get. Compensation was cut in half with this restructuring with zero chance of getting it back. My direct manager is very supportive, but of course doesn't make any final decisions.
