Micromanaged while being disorganized
|
Non-stop calls. No flexibility for patients, at all. So it doesn't feel like we're "helping." There are standards that need to be met, but the standard keeps changing with little to no communication. Training is inconsistent with the actual role. Supervisor plays favorites. Not much culture. Everyone seems miserable. It's a dead end job with high performers not getting rewarded. Job security is questionable.

Management tries very hard, but is spread too thin n some circumstances. Help is not always readily available.
Patients come first and I appreciate that.

This company is comparable to a game of Tetris. If you’re an employee you’re not safe it all. This company was a fantastic company 7 years ago. I loved working here. I stayed with this company for 5 years. Now this company is trying to tread water. They are doing anything to save a Dollar. Stay far away from this company.

Avoid; Went downhill very fast.

When I first started at Inogen, it was a wonderful place to work. The management, the co-workers, the workplace culture, etc., were all so supportive, kind, and great to work with. Fast forward 2 years later; with New Management, the company failed to meet, "financial goals." As a result, they had to tighten their belts, which means no more raises, and lots of policy changes. The policy changes means we cannot serve the patient to the best of our ability (and lots of angry phone calls- most of them are the same patients calling back with the same technical issues that we weren't able to resolve the first time, due to the new policy changes). Not to mention, with the raises going out the window, you're now left with, "incentivised bonuses," if you meet your metrics (but it'll be hard to, since you'll find yyourself on the phone with patients who are 100% correct, yet you have to make excuses for the company all day).
With the New Management in the Customer Service Department, and the New Policy changes, and all the calls you'll be taking from sick and/or elderly folks whom you won't be able to assist, this is a heartbreaking job. I'd advise you to steer clear of this company. (Not to mention, their Ohio Branch just closed down; anyone who was not able to work from home was forced to resign. Also, I see signs that Inogen are not doing so well financially. Don't believe me? Look at their stocks...)

I accepted a job offer at this company, but unfortunately, I was later informed that I did not meet the credit check requirements after already giving my notice at my previous job. As a result, I was left without employment. I do not believe this company prioritizes their employees and values individuals in the workplace. It raises concerns for me regarding their commitment to patient care. I do not recommend this company to others in search of employment.

Good company, but unreliable to keep your job, keeping up with constantly changing compliance rules.

Inbound calling and warm leads only. NO cold calling allowed. LOVED this. a couple of hours calling on warm leads/online inquires, etc. 2 hours for inbound calls (most sales made here) rest of day following up with patients being worked with, also calling Dr offices to try and get Rx sent back, etc. 80 dials minimum daly and 2.5 hr talk time minimum. At this moment of my work time. I had 80-120 dials a day and 3-4 hours of talk time. I was a great worker, exceeding their wishes and closing sales on goal or better.
Keeping up with what is the current compliance rule is tough and I found myself fired for a nuance of one of those rules that was never explained to us fully. There was NO grace. HR even explained they understood I didn't do it on purpose.
I have asked several other co-workers, who have worked there many years, explaining how they applied this compliance violation and they are all saying, WOW. That could have happened to anyone and Inogen has not told us. There was NO GRACE just sorry, you were a great employee but there is no room for this rule, your out. The sales role in this company is high stress, they do change the metrix often on expectations and I was keeping up with ALL of it along with keeping up with sales goals. I LOVED this job of helping others. in 58 years have always been a top employee of any place I work. Just astounded one day I was great employee with management happy and the next, fired!

Used to be a great place to work, but is horrible now.
|
I will start this by saying that I was one of the top performers in this company for years and not one of the struggling low level sales reps that simply couldn't handle the role. The sales role has been drastically changed in a way as to cap your commission/income. You used to be able to take incoming calls all day and spread your day out to be as profitable as possible. Now you are relegated to only being able to accept incoming sales calls for 2 hours a day. The commission structure is made to look very lucrative, but you are not told that they will not allow you sell enough units for it to become lucrative.
New upper management came in and instituted new lead working guidelines, new lead distribution processes, and drastically changed the ability for someone to be able to produce a high level of sales.
The company has fired almost all of it's top performers, have robbed people from the President's club bonuses that were earned through hard work by firing them before the end of the year, or even days before the bonus was to be given.
Overall this is just a horrible place to work and I would never recommend it to anyone that is a serious sales representative. If you are looking for a job with a decent salary as a stand in while you look for a real sales job, this might be for you.

As a manger, the salary was competitive and the work from home option was appealing.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Micromanaging from all levels. It was a remote, high pressure call center. Sales team members were required to make 100 calls per day, even if they weren’t to quality leads. Unattainable monthly sales goals.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was a very unsupportive, competitive work environment. Managers would encourage their sales team to steal leads and circumvent the system to obtain sales.
