Great balance but very low job security
|
I had worked with Intersections, Inc. for close to 2 years. Overall the company offers great balance of work/life situations. On the flipside, job security is extremely low! For example, my third day of reporting to work the VP of Digital Media along with a few other executive staff had been laid-off. No sooner than this event, other management staff were either laid-off or found other employment before they took action to lay-off. All of which, lead up to my termination as well.
Its a great start to get a break-thru in work/life balance environment, but do not count on job security or longevity with the company.

Very productive!

Intersections was a bit stressful to work at being you have to deal with people's credit reports. There was no room for mistakes, you are consistently being trained and completing courses to learn how to keep yourself and others well protected from identity fraud.

Very strict call center
|
Nice people work there, but you are expected to sound like a robot. Reading scripts verbatim, even if you sound like an idiot. Your calls are screened, scored and followed. If you use one wrong word, you get a zero. You must keep an average score and that is sometimes up to your supervisor as to whether you made a mistake or not. VERY strict time constraints. You earn a decent amount of time off per pay period, but they cheat you out of it if you are not there for 6 months.

Intersections is a great company. The management really tries to work with you to make sure you meet your needs and at the same time meet there needs. Environment is very laid back and when deadlines need to be met, they are met. Even when it is busy in the office there is a calm nature in the atmosphere. The work may not be for everyone but at least I had a pleasant time there.

High turnover rate

The training program was poorly developed. The trainers were nice people but the time wasted watching power points that were not helpful was unnecessary. The pay is awful for the type of performance that is expected. You are thrown on to the phones with live customers without having a clue to what you're supposed to do. You are expected to be completely knowledgeable about credit reports, public records and assist customers with login problems for a $9.00 wage. Unless you live under 10 miles to the center it's not worth it. They require you to be there on time even in the freakish winter storms we experience in this area.

the hours are terrible the pay is terrible no room for advancement , the best thing i've gained is experience in customer service and the friends ive met along the way, the hoops that you jump through for a measly 9 bucks an hour is insane you would think that were work for some top secret agency.
