Best culture I have ever experienced

There has been a ton of change since the previous reviews were written. The CEO listed for this company hasn't been the CEO for probably ten years.
-Fun technology
-Very nice, really sharp people
-Lots of fun work events! Top Golf, escape rooms, curling, rafting, happy hours. There's an average of one fun event every other month or so. It's great!
-Realistically, it's probably the best company I've ever worked for. Just fun, earnest, hardworking people and cool products.

-Being a public company at this size can lead to extra work and unique challenges.
-The traffic control industry moves very slowly, so in many ways ISS is ahead of the market.

Not many. The company, while publicly traded, can't get a sense of direction for more than 15 minutes. Senior Mgmt are ineffective. Lots of denial, if you like that kind of environment.

Yet another company where senior/long serving employees ,or even newbies, will be fired with absolutely no warning. Capricious. That's the correct term. No rhyme or reason, no due process, just one day, you aren't needed, have "failed" even though you weren't given any prior feedback. Capricious. That is the most outstanding quality of the head decision maker. The company keeps trying to find its way, and it is not going to, not with the current BOD and "Executive Leadership."

Best Company I Have Ever Worked For

I have been with Image Sensing Systems for less than a year, but it has quickly become the best company I have ever worked for. The vibe/atmosphere is very energetic and positive. If you put in the effort, people will notice. If you slack off, people will notice as well. There is free parking, as well as an on-site gym to take advantage of. By far and away the best part of working for this company is the people. My coworkers are some exceptionally talented individuals and I am grateful to be surrounded by others with such experience and drive. I am very excited about my future here with this company!

Engineers here are some of the most genuine, awesome people. The technology is very interesting and fun to work on at times.
|
Management will ask you to work weekends on products that will probably fail. There are too many products to sustain with the small engineering staff. More products developed here fail than succeed. Be prepared to constantly switch tasks from one product to the next. There is no clear message from management on how the company will grow. Management doesn't agree on what to build and what's important-- that much is evident in how the work changes from one week to the next.
