Ineffective leaders, poor direction, bad work/life

Avoid career or career stop here.
Crony boys/girls club - large amount of politics for such a small company
Terrible work life balance - be ready to work weekends, late evenings, and travel for no reason
Reliance on external partners to get things done, but nothing actually gets done
Terrible financial future of the company due to multiple products having little growth and no replacements coming from research
Regular lack of basic competence and can critical thinking at high levels - sr directors and executive directors and VPs will regularly focus on 1 or 2 examples rather than a collective body of evidence due to their limited experience
Large amount of senior managers that do not actually manage or do a component job, see a lot of work ‘pushed down’ becuase senior leaders can actually ‘do it’ competently
No accountability among the workers at mid and high levels, and passing the buck by senior leaders for political reasons
Few strong workers and the few that are good leave due to frustration with leadership
Poor to non existent career development
Ineffective leaders across the board in r&d, pipeline development, project management, commercial development, and marketing research

Culture has dramatically changed over the past 2 years

Jazz has a lot of "unwritten rules" which consists of many gray areas without support.
Jazz is unclear about call reporting; varies from manager to manager.
Jazz downsized excellent managers and kept managers with questionable ethics.
Ever since Big Pharma entered the arena, a solid sense of cohesiveness has diminished.
Merit increases are mainly in RSUs.
PTO is not allotted. Though Jazz touts "uncapped" PTO, you must request PTO, managers either approve or deny. If it is approved, they can retract the approval.

Management don't listen
|
The management don't listen to the staff that do the work and have hands on experience, so staff get frustrated at being forced to work so inefficiently and without enough staff. There is a backbone of a few people that have worked at GW (now Jazz) for many years, but many new staff leave after less than a year. On site teams have a massive turn over of staff with departmental in-fighting, lack of communication and ignoring staff ideas.Staff are expected to continue with the same level of accuracy but with not enough staff. Regulations keep changes to try and mitigate errors, bit they don't address the fact that they are short staffed. The company claim that you have to earn a pay rise or promotion, but this is not true. They bring in new staff instead of promoting from within over and over. Jazz is a company that swallows up smaller companies to continue getting profits without any need to expand or grow, and at the expense of experienced staff.

Overly corporate - more directors than actual meaningful starf

Jazz have good values, however legacy members of staff who also value their career more than their own team will see certain parts crumble. Poorly designed communication processes with directors making decisions based on ego rather than BAU.
