The pay and hours aren’t great. $9/Hr and at times 8-10Hrs a week. Interview was pretty standard. The three typical questions. “Tell us about a time you worked as a team and what you did to solve a problem/do a project.” “Tell me about a time you had to deal with an upset customer and what you did to solve it.” “Why do you want to work here?” Environment depends a lot on the location and who you’re working with.

Too serious and underpaid

As an employee at Kirkland’s I loved working there the first year or so. It depends on who works there. Who they hire throughout your time there and how stressed your manager is. Towards the end I didn’t want to go to work it wasn’t fun anymore. The new hires were young and I just didn’t care for one or two of them probably because of the age difference by at least 24 years. They had to be one of the lowest paying retail companies. I made $12 that’s it!!. Most of all the people I worked with I truly loved and thought some of them were friends .Customers were wonderful and made my day worth coming in. I just think they do not pay enough. I think they need to pay at least $15 hr. They also didn’t like us talking to each other really which can make a job like that boring. They also wanted us to constantly bug customers to open a credit card. Overall it can be a nice place to work but the definitely would have to pay more.

Fun but slow at times. The amount of promo changes can get crazy but over all good place and fair products. Upper management is nice- don’t like that we have to unload the semi trucks when there’s heavy furniture

I love my job! BUT, as do all things it has it's downsides.
|
I've been a "Sales Lead" for nearly three years now and I do genuinely enjoy what I do and who I work with, as well as the customers I assist. Cons would be within the pay for everything you are required to do on a daily basis, and little opportunity for growth within the company. Work environment can physically tolling at times but fun!

Very physical fast pace job. Always on the go. Assembling and lifting heavy furniture.

As a keyholder/shift supervisor I learned so many great career building attributes. If the district manager was a little bit more personal and actually cared about his employees I would’ve stayed with the company. As far as raises, the company gives out maybe 2% if we are lucky.

The pay isn't great but it is a fun environment. Unboxing the freight and getting to see all the new inventory is a lot of fun. Helping people to make design choices in their home is very rewarding.

Good for a starter job, but be warned.

The management at this Kirklands is horrendous, they’re super unprofessional and gossip about everyone. On top of that, the employees get a maximum of 6 hours in a week.
