I was able to collaborate often with peers and colleagues. Work life balance sucks as many store manager positions are. You're definitely going to catch many phone calls on your time off or possibly need to schedule for meetings of important information within your time off. Overall I enjoyed my job but some of upper management can being very analytical which may be be good for their own task but not when being a leader of leaders. They bonus structure is ludacris, the goals were pretty much impossible to meet. You mostly sit around and wait for customers to come in so, depending on the store's manager, you can be on your phone while you wait. The only difficult part is navigating the company's software and lifting a 20 ish pound sofa arm. Only draw back is that each location has 120-140 hours for the entire staff of 6-8 including 2 full time positions of ASM and SM leading to lack of hours as a part time. Haven’t hit bonus since I started with the company which was supposed to make up for the lack of commission and low pay. Barely any communication between corporate and store level. No advancement to full time unless you want to pursue management which they still hire outside most of the time. They introduce new responsibilities for your role and force you into doing them. We are required to do so many follow ups that feels more like harassing customers than building relationships. When company doesn’t make sales they assign “busywork”. Lovesac doesn’t know what’s up or down. They are also extremely cheap. The employee gift this year was a $50 gift card to the company’s swag store but you had to pay for tax and shipping. Oh and time in the company means nothing - you could spend 5 years there, earn your raises in that time, but new employees will be getting paid more than you and you will NOT be compensated for your time knowledge or value. They give a family feel but at the end of the day you are just a number and management will not stick up for you.
