Without prior banking experience, failing at your role is probable due to lack of proper training. Upper management is disrespectful and unprofessional. There are little to no communication and procedures in place. Just another company that pretends to care about employees but in the end every one is just a number. What is the best part of working at the company? Client relationships, Trust from the executive team to do my best. every day, then my new supervisor disliked my spirit and also my Dad, who she knew from the former Merchants National Bank. Our first meeting I said, you may remember my father, she responded.. “Oh, that explains a lot” in a derogatory manner. I knew from that day, my position was going to end. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? My supervisor’s lack of respect What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Trust, commitment, loyalty, team. My opinion did not count What is a typical day like for you at the company? This job curtails wiring money, opening up all types of accounts, proofing all your work directly to the Fed, knowing all ins and outs of online banking and how to assist with all online banking problems. This company pays you as a teller but aspects you to know every feature of banking. There is very little training given. This job is very involved with very little pay. It's night and day compared to other, high pressure mortgage companies I've worked for previously. The people are all fantastic and the managers truly care about their employees. Benefits are good and managers are always willing to listen to problems. The only criticism is the bank has grown so rapidly, they are a little behind on processes, procedures, training, and enhanced systems. Still, one of the most enjoyable companies I've worked for personally. MBI is such a small company that your opinion matters, your voice gets heard. Your being there really makes a difference, and upper management makes that clear. They really care about the people that work for them, and it shows. The best bank and even company I have worked for. Constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve our functionality. Would absolutely recommend for anyone to come work at MBI. Great benefits, tuition reimbursement, and overall just a fun positive work environment.
