nasdaq:mfnc https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=19009 Nov 15th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Mackinac Financial Bank Teller Alpena, MI One of my least favorite jobs I've worked They give bonuses, gifts, good benefits, and decent pay for a job with no specific skills or degrees necessary. Also they often would buy the staff lunch. Like when they hired a new employee or when a employee left. Some times on holidays or on days when we were really short staffed and couldn't leave for lunch they would also buy us lunch on the bank. They also bought their staff a lot of nice logo clothes. Which was nice. High Stress, angry customers, some times it would be really busy and then it would be dead and you'd go from stressed and overworked and about to break down and cry to having absolutely nothing to do and just stare at a wall or sneak onto your phone or the internet which we weren't supposed to do. Because we weren't supposed to be on our phone or the internet even though there was nothing to do and we couldn't leave our spots to find something productive to do because we were really understaffed. It felt like they didn't give frontline staff enough training. Like I couldn't help with online banking, I couldn't close accounts, I couldn't open accounts, I couldn't raise limits, take off dormancies, order checks, change customers addresses, I couldn't help with a lot of things and the people who could were never available and that would make the customers extremely angry. Sometimes they would have to wait over a day for the simplest of things simply because there was only one person in the branch that was allowed to take care of it and they were always kept overworked and never available. Like we should have been by appointment only with the way things were but I would told not to make the customers do that either. It was a lose-lose situation. I couldn't de-stress by the end of the day. I would just go home and still be stressed to the max. I had to get a grind guard which I never needed before this job. Plus they did multiple merges and I can guarantee they will do more. Merges are awful and miserable and really hard on the staff. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 2.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 0.0 19009 Open Hire more employees. Part of why it was so stressful was because when it was busy we were really understaffed. It felt like I was kind of useless because there were a lot of things that I couldn't help customers with but yet I would be the first person they would see. Then the person they need to talk to or see would always be really overworked and never available and that made the customers angry fast. It would be over things as simple as unlocking their online banking or closing a checking account. Why can't frontline staff do such simple things- give your frontline staff more abilities. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Dec 1st, 2020 10:03AM Jun 26th, 2021 07:08PM Mackinac Financial Financial Services
