Poor Communication and Lack of Direction from Senior Management

|
The people are generally pleasant to work with and there are very competent individuals working in various department. Salaries are quite consistent with other smaller publicly traded companies. The Company is very flexible with individual's choice to work remotely, hybrid etc. Depending on the department, there are opportunities for individuals to make an impact as the Company has many areas that they can improve/innovate which can lead to recognition or promotions. Management is not cutthroat like some other companies as there have been instances where low performing employees have stayed in the company longer than they should have. RSUs are granted to managers and up.

The communication from senior leadership is quite poor. Townhall meetings are rare and employees are not informed on Company's performance, initiatives etc. There is much to be desired on the benefits provided for employees. For example, the health insurance plans are quite frankly a joke and doesn't give individuals much options. Bonuses are discretionary and are not always paid out. HR policies are erratic as the Company forced employees to take PTO or go unpaid during Company shutdown during the holidays. This isn't the most exciting or innovative industry so the work can get rather boring. Most people are here for the long haul and are comfortable with the work as it is not challenging.

- Improve communications from Senior Leadership to employees on Company's direction, goals, and initiatives. This will provide more motivation for employees and establish trust in management - Improve the benefit plans provided for employees. Work with other insurance providers to provide the best, most cost effective plans for employees that they have options to choose what suits them the best. - Focus on employee retention and talent sourcing by improving the bonus structure and implementing an employee stock plan for employees below manager level. The Company can also improve on perks provided to employees. - Invest in the Company's operations and administrative functions and innovate the current processes/systems that are in place. The Company is lacking in automation on the administrative functions such as payroll, HR, accounting etc.

The work is easy over all.

The manager is rude. You get a lot of extra work but they don't offer extra money. They overwork you but there's no appreciation on their part. They pay minimum wage. Apply elsewhere. This is not a good place for growth nor will you be appreciated.
