Great For Entry level into Water Utility. Don’t Stay for Long, Some employees are Racist.
|
Great Entry Job into Water Utility. Learn basic knowledge of the water system. Great as far as job experience goes, but the bad outweighs the good. Clear Favoritism and coworkers talk about Politics and Religion more than they should. Openly Racist employees to an uncomfortable point. Not enough diversity in the company. Human Resources hold you accountable for things you weren’t involved with. They also hold a grudge against you to a point where it almost feels like harassment. They won’t consider you for a promotion because they feel like you only got to where you’re at because of people “you know” rather than hard work and dedication. The pay isn’t competitive, other utility companies pay way more. There is no union as well. Responsibilities are put on you that weren’t in the job description from the beginning.

Great place to work meter reading is by far the worst part of it i was stuck doing it a few times a week even though thats not what i was hired to do they have unrealistic expectations of it good pay nice people definitely would go back if i was still around

Excellent place to start your career
|
As an intern the day consisted on working with aspiring mentors who truly took the time to instruct and guide me through my assigned tasks. I had the opportunity of working in different projects, participate in meetings with consulting firms and contractors, I spent the majority of the time at the office but I got to go on the field a few times to see various projects being constructed.

Middlesex Water company had its ups and downs. The pay and benefits were very good while the management and co workers were not. After not being treated fairly and lied to I do not recommend this position to anyone.

Interesting and rewarding work
|
Testing samples of potable & nonpotable water from designated areas from each town within Middlesex County allowed us to analyze and quantify the potential threat of any harmful agents inside of the public water supply. I was fortunate to have been trained in operating dozens of instruments I was previously unfamiliar with. I enjoyed the laboratory,the procedures in place, the attention to detail and the all of the employees. I consider myself lucky to have had this opportunity and thankful to be familiar with more laboratory equipment.
