Nobody moves up, Flaggers get no respect and train operators have the worst schedule known to man kind. Employees are really cool tho! Any advice I can give is use the company for advancement to get a better job else where! Make friends with contractors, be professional and always ask questions! Use the Flagger position as a networking tool. .. Oh yea Saturday car wash is always hilarious.. These are all facts!!!! It had happened numerous of times while I worked there. Or don't... Whatever MTS was a really great place to work if you like work life balance. They've continued to hire more and more upper management and finance to butter up the investors and make sure that the concerns of the folks doing contributive work is sugar coated. It is so top heavy that most managers need to over staff their employees just so that when the peaks and valleys of work load is at a peak they aren't over worked and have to stumble through the recruiters processes to get the help they need. MTS is so very short sighted that they've had layoffs every single year that I worked there. Obviously choosing an algorithm to cut ties with employees instead of cutting the fat and underperformers. This is a company with great employees, great products and the best customers in the world. Too bad they've gone from a world leader to mediocre at best. At least everyone their is super nice and in the same boat as you are. If you want to have a relaxing career but might lose your job at any moment, MTS is the place for you. The local office was suddenly closed and all employees were laid off. Even after receiving the offer again, they fired the employees again. During employment, overtime was requested even on the weekend. Top management didn't seem to know what employees were doing and in what direction they should lead the company. Not enough staff you are by yourself most of the shift and expected to do any and everything even stuff that's not your job. If you make one mistake you're thrown under the bus. Long hours no work/home life when you are finally off you spend most of your time catching up on sleep. If you dare to make a comment they will make sure you are next in line to be laid off. The values they post and hang around the building and on their website are just words. The only value they follow is how can management get more money for themselves. They do not care about their employees. When Trump cut the corporate tax rate instead of investing the monies saved in their employees they went and bought over 5 companies. Not a drop went to they employees. In fact they gave little to no salary increases last year claiming that revenue was tight. In April 2020 there were massive layoffs and then again in May claiming that revenue was tight. No planning for a rainy day. They are deeply in debt because of the constant purchase of companies. I don't mind acquiring new revenue streams but make sure your employees are happy and that you have some monies saved for hard times. Now they expect one employee to do the job of 3 people. They are not saving money because employees now need to work overtime. 95% of the layoffs were people who were over 50 so if you are near or in that age range look out!!!!!!! Very unfriendly place to work. Overall, this is a decent company to work for. It is my opinion that the company has become too top-heavy and managers have taken on the role of micro-management, smothering the independent abilities of those working under them. Benefits are good and pay is decent.
