hit and miss company to work for

Good benefit packages. bonus when company is doing well. can be a great place to work if you get along with the boss.

- Instead of 'firing' people, they have layoff almost every other year. - no room for promotions. the position you are hired on is likely it. - Company wide policies are loosely enforced, its really dependent on the department head, so if you get a good boss, anything goes, but if you end up in a department with 'terrible' boss, they will make you miserable. - Favoritism is heavy and obvious across the company. - Upper management in certain department appear to 'abuse' the system with elaborate trips and purchases of their choice. I have never worked for a company where the vital employee are not allowed to attend events relevant to their job, but the VP goes instead, stay for days, tags on a vacation or two, wine and dine on company dime (yes he brags about it to everyone upon return), and comes back with loose notes (if any) that are not useful and can not be used for validation. - Not open to changes and very stingy with spending even for updating systems and equipment improvement. - Most of their operating systems and equipment are still from the 90's. - Very lean, which means everyone is overworked.

-Management does not care about properly compensating employees, especially the ones who have been around the longest -Culture of indifference: the only important thing is who made the mistake, not fixing it -Adversarial attitudes: QA and QC spend all day pointing fingers and trying to catch one another in mistakes. It is very childish and makes working here tedious and unprofessional -Ownership loves to pat themselves on the back despite poor decisions leading to worse quality of life for their employees
