Terrible management in the claims department that’s out of touch with their frontline workers. Supervisors and their staff work tirelessly but upper management just wants to promote unknowledgeable people into management roles with limited experience and no leadership ability.

Comradery amongst adjusters. Friendly, approachable supervisors. Teamwork. Open door policy by supervisors and management team (they actually LISTEN to our feedback and take action where they can). The response to COVID-19 and work from home was seamless. Good training opportunities available. Good benefit package.

Technology/Systems need improvement, but it is something they are working on with a new claim system coming. HSA Medical plan not ideal.

Management cannot be trusted and will turn a blind eye to manager/supervisor verbal and retaliatory behavior. HR will alway side with management. Morale is horrible and workers are burnt out.

Discrimination charge filed against them

Let's just talk about my discrimination charge, move to the Cons section.
|
I wouldn't be surprised if several other employees have filed discrimination charges against this company. National Interstate was so blatantly guilty in the discrimination charge that I filed. I have an email complaint to HR for my manager making a discriminatory comment towards me and an email retaliation sent within 15 minutes of each other, back to back. I have a copy of the PIP or performance improvement plan document that I was forced to submit daily as a retaliation until I was able to find a new job and leave this hostile work environment. I have a two year backlog of documentation of their hostile work environment and discriminatory actions. I was making 6 figures within a month of leaving this company, I don't like to brag but I am top notch talent in the IT industry and this is how I was treated. I do not recommend National Interstate as an employer.
