Good coffee in the Canadian office. Lots of food leftovers from executive meetings. Good camaraderie among many.
|
Tribalistic culture, no bonus payouts, very poor rewards for 5 or 10 years of service (you only get $100 for 5 year award, $250 for serving 10 years), stress, no work-life balance, calls on weekends. executives use their position to solicit donations to their family charities. They take credit for employee charities and list them as company talking points. Almost no merits for accomplishment. zero advancement opportunities. You will not come to this company to grow in your career. You will only be trained in things that benefit NCS, not you.

Great place for recent graduates or first chemist role. Management is ok. Pay is well below average for Chemist position.
|
-Poor communication between departments. -Possible layoffs in the near future. Several locations and positions have been axed in the last couple of weeks. -Problems are brought to management multiple times but are brushed under the rug and ignored. -Severe favoritism. Only the senior chemist is allowed to handle anything remotely important and received multiple promotions and raises within an incredibly short period of time. Others are treated like they are incompetent children and are not given any opportunities for growth. -Company does not have the resources to train or improve employee development. -Chemist role can be performed by someone with a GED with some training, little to no chemistry knowledge is required for this position. -Position is 80% administrative and pattern recognition.
