In this role, you’ll be in charge of instrumentation, test setup, procedures, and reporting for Powertrain. You’ll plan and manage all tests for e-axles, motors, and inverters. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The main focus will be to develop and implement world class assembly processes to build a world class fully electric semi vehicle. This will include working in all stages of the vehicle development process; from clay models to fully functional vehicles. This is a high focus and demanding position that will require an individual that can work to represent the production operator as the vehicle is designed. Must have good visual knowledge of how things go together.RESPONSIBILITIESDirect interface with Product Designers and Engineers to develop future vehicle designs with Design for Manufacturing focus.Develop Assembly / Manufacturing processes based on best practices for battery cell, pack, and enclosures. We’re looking for a hands-on expert who can help Nikola secure a zero emissions future with our hydrogen fuel cell electric, and all electric class 8 semi-trucks and vocational chassis. This new position will support a broad strategy to help deliver world class service and maintenance to customer fleets in the U.S. and be part of a collaborative team responsible for timely servicing, preventative maintenance, and asset productivity uptime. In this role you’ll work directly with initial design, upfit and engineering teams to keep the fleets running and ensure that future services and repairs are performed efficiently.
