Micro management doesn't even begin to describe it. The commission structure is a joke, you only get paid if they sit for the appointment which you can hardly control, you then need the account executive to actually make the sale to get further commissions which you also can't control. Expected 150 dials a day.

Paylocity had it all… until the growth
|
paylocity lost its family feeling the moment sales became their priority. They stopped going above and beyond with swag, if you were remote you were forced into the office as punishment should you have experienced a rough patch in your day to day. PCTY forgot and forgets not everyone will match with every client, and if a client asks for a new AM? it’s you (you’re the problem) & if you want to remain at PCTY without prior pay raises? Move from service to support fast, but be prepared to not see sufficient increases.
|
Free snacks, drinks, lunch 1x a week IN OFFICE, equipment mostly provided? No healthcare EE cost increase in over 5 years
|
not enough education of new products, rapport with clients means nothing

Overall good company
|
I don't have any Major complaints. I've mostly enjoyed working for PCTY. They are getting to the point where trying to be a "growth company" seems like it may be detrimental to employee's (increased workload, additional complexities) but they compensate fairly and have been great when I've needed time for family or medical issues. Would recommend.

Unsupportive, demanding work environment
|
Good luck working here. They advertised this position as having a dedicated book of business… Yeah sure, you have your “own” clients, but you’re also responsible for everyone else’s clients as you stay available on the phone all day. They do not mention taking inbound calls or literally anything to do with a call center in the job description.
Thats what this job is though... A poorly managed call center. It’s back to back calls with a one-minute break in between each. On top of the never ending calls, you are receiving constant emails. The emails are called “cases” and you will receive at least 20-30 a day.
Paylocity does not prepare you at all. Yes, they provide training, but it’s just answering questions in a lengthy workbook for a couple months. Afterwards, you shadow a few times and then you’re on your own. Leadership (for the most part) is unhelpful and self-serving. They do not care at all about you, I promise.
Again, good luck.

Laid back, Fun place to work
|
Management is easy going and fair as long as you're doing your job. Great schedule if you are not a morning person. Shift starts 10-1130 am and usually ends around 8 pm.

Great work environment. Definitely a 10 out of 10!
|
Great work environment, day goes by fast, very helpful coworkers. This was a seasonal position and sometimes they offer seasonal employees permanent part time positions once the heavy season is over. I was moving out of state, but I would have absolutely accepted a permanent position. I liked working there 3 days a week (25 hrs/wk), but there are opportunities to work more days as needed depending on how busy they are. They will offer 1-2 more days by asking for volunteers.
The company is generous and the pay is above average. One thing to note: the hours are generally from around 11/11:30 am to 7:30/8ish pm, it’s not an 8-5pm job. It was fine for me because it was only 3 days a week. I don’t think I’d like working that schedule 40 hours a week though because your whole day is eaten up.
To sum up: it’s a wonderful place to work and the work culture is great! The company goes out of its way to make you feel welcome and appreciated. If you’re lucky enough to get offered a position…take it!

Free Lunch 1-2x a week, snacks, cold drinks, and coffee provided, you can listen to music with AirPods, great manager and work environment

Great coworkers to suffer with because the company likes to bait and switch.
|
What is the best part of working at the company?
Coworkers. The company is not transparent, so def not the company. They tell you one thing then do another.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Workload. New clients all the time. You don't have to know the job tho. They tell to looknit up in PEAK or ask someone.
When you ask someone for balancing help the CSAs get mad.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very high school. It's not what you know, it's who you know. A lot of "networking" and brown nosing.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8hrs plus 1 hr lunch. Overtime.
The company preaches a work life balance but I'm not sure whose scale they are using to determine that.

A decent place to work but expectations are HIGH
|
The account manager role is over whelming. You are given tons of information and you're expected to perform at a high level. They will expect you to know onboarding, payroll, recruiting, taxes, expense modules, and more... You will have to learn on the fly while you deal with live customers. A client's problem is your problem. You are expected to take ownership of every case that comes your way, no matter how complex the case is.
