HR is pretty much useless. Management is useless too in terms of identifying incompetent people in the team. Which shows how incompetent the management is on defining and identifying good team members. You will have people who says they're "WFH", but becomes MIA and dont even reply to emails. You will have people who are "tai-chi masters" with no technical knowledge whatsoever. You will have useless middle managers who think highly of themselves. You will have people who dont even know how to use the handful of engineering analysis tools, and unwilling to do so. All of these will go unpunished. Ultimately
meritocracy is dead.
