They expect employees to not have a life outside of work. It is a negative work environment and very little to no support from upper management. Employees have a high rate of leaving and the company does nothing to retain good employees.

This company has a good product, but the problem is that management do not have any understanding whatsoever of what the workers need to succeed in order to do their jobs. They just tell you to get it done, without any direction on how to actually get it done. The management is extremely incompetent and very poor.

Low pay, good benefits, upper management is aggressively aimless.

Salary was really low, even after some negotiation. After 3 years, I had made less than 4% in raises.
Benefits are quite nice, and almost fully paid for. No complaints.
My main issue with this employer is the upper management; including the VPs and C-levels. They are without any idea of what is going on in the depths of their own company. I was repeatedly told to do certain things by one department that I had been explicitly told not to do by my boss. Bringing these requests to my boss with the explanation that it was forbidden for very good reason had him telling me to do it anyway.
Culture is terrible. This is a place to work, work, work. Trying to do fun things with co-workers (out of the office and during breaks or after work) was actively shot down by HR.
Advancement is horrible here. No upward or sideways mobility (only heard of 1 person to go up or to a different department).
I learned a great deal while I was here, so that's nice.
401k matching was nonexistent until 2017, at which point it was 1/2 a percent per percent up to 3 percent. Which is bad.

There were many excellent engineers at Qualys and we all had strong opinions. However, we all needed to learn how to get along better. There were too many unnecessary battles.

Excellent benefits and stock awards.
