if you really want to get that experience in this place would be it. youre mostly doing exams on your own and expect to know all that you learned in school. you also work independently so if you need help dont bother, managment knows nothing about your job.

work days without taking any lunch breaks. work 9 hours but take an hour lunch. front desk take in patients at the last 5 mins to 1 min before closing when youre already burned out from doing xrays, fluoro, and dexa exams.

improvement let your technologist get some breaks. just because we stand around and chat doesnt mean we are not doing any work, it's because we have to wait 1-2 hours for the front desk to check in patients verifying insurance orders, etc...

patient can come to their appointment anytime, 2 pm appointment comes at 10 am, the tech still has to take it and it can pile up the schedule which leads to no break for the tech til late in the afternoon. Plus other on time patients get delayed in being seen and get angry with the everyone.

Once the patient did not show for 15 mins into their appointment the appointment should be rescheduled and patient who comes too early needs to wait til patients who came on time being seen before they can be seen, otherwise there is no order in the time management at all. It leads to stress everyday for the technician and working while being starved. There were a lot of older patients, sometimes in the wheelchair. Patient in the wheelchair needs to have 15 more mins extra added to the appointment for proper transport and getting onto and off the exam table. Patient who are 70 years or older should always be asked out front if they have incontinence problem so everyone is aware. Without this information, issue can happen on the exam table which leads more time wasted on each case and therefore delay other patients being seen on time.

sometimes the patient workload is ridiculous. exams were cut down to 20 mins per exam, including TA/TV exams. the pay sucks.
