Great stop on a road to better things

Health insurance, co-workers are great, not micromanaged. Management, atleast in my department, is very good and understanding.
|
They preach about internal growth and they claim to want to help you get where you want, but when it comes down to it they rarely follow through. They make many empty promises and honestly it feels like they're just playing you. They'll say anything to get your help and then start with excuses once it's done. You can work here for multiple years and people who've started after you will get promoted before you. They'll get paid education before you. Overall it is just disappointing. I have been disappointed and have long since lost all sense of loyalty I once had. They promise a future that will never come. In short, what I'm trying to say is use this place as a pit stop to something better.
Furthermore there are specific teams within the company that are intensely rude. A superiority complex has been fostered and allowed for years on the support teams to the point that there are coworkers who will refuse to even interact with them. They'll snatch things out of your hand, give you dirty looks, ignore you, make accusations, send nasty emails, etc. It's like we have to walk on eggshells just to get them to do the job they are paid to do. If your workers are actively refusing to interact with other teams, then you're doing something wrong.

Leadership professionalism is non existent. 1:1’s should be used for productive conversations related to further developing your skills and a plan to get there. I wish my former manager would have asked me at least once “what do you need from me to further develop your skills?” Or “what do you want to work on to continue to learn more about the business?” Leadership (this is including two Directors) will also make fun of potential new hire candidates after an interview in a negative light within a work messaging platform. Just by searching the messaging platform you may read these “private conversations” that are not so private. Management do not work in a professional level, they promote individuals who do the bare minimum due to favoritism.
