Don't expect it to stay professional. The coworkers are cool and I love being around them, but they stay understaffed and overwork their employees. Expect overtime, Even if you don't expect to have it. They have an "out times mean nothing" policy that doesn't work for most people. If you plan on having a job that appreciates your work, benefits most of your work, and has a good management, don't look here. I met so many faces and worked on my self as well when I worked there! A typical day for me at red Robin would be if I was a server. I would probably get there or bartender. Get there around 10 1030 set up for the day. Make sure my ice is good for the syrups or strawberries lemons all that good stuff that has to be refrigerated. Then I would make sure roll out for the day which server was wherever was right. Everyone was showing up to work and if we had to call somebody again, we would let the boss know that we had call somebody in. Supervisor open the building make sure we would read our notes for the day on the computer we would also , make sure the team was showing up for the day if not, we had to make calls and try to get somebody to cover that shift. If not, we will go about our day and do our floor plan then we would have the server or get that area ready and then everyone would start coming at 11 then it would start getting busier around noon 12 thirtyish cause everyone's on lunch And then downtime was around 130 and start cutting the floor and then by around 233 we would cut the last server that was with the person that was closing for the day and bartenders and one server always closed and they would get off at 4 o'clock, but sometimes the bartender would let the server go because they could handle it all. Now, if I was on a double like sometimes I would open up and be a bartender and then I would shift supervise at night so for instance at 4 o'clock I would go on break for 30 minutes eat have one of the cooks make my food you know call my fiancé or whoever my mom or call back make my call and then get back to work and then do the floor plan get ready, but the other manager will come in and help so that would be already getting started for the night And Help that big night manager Half of lunches. Left because of a lack of hours and declining business overall. What is the best part of working at the company? Every cares! This place is not only about the employees but family. Your job duties and responsibilities are well written out. Any new changes are clearly displayed and taught with no questions. Best training program by far! What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The most stressful part of working for the company is when there is menu changes that our area sells out but the item might not sell in other locations and is pulled from the menu. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Our specific location, we are more like a family. Everyone from the GM to the employees, absolutely everyone is working hard each and everyday. Working hard meaning that we do not only do our “job” but crossed trained in other areas so we can all be hands on. I love a busy shift when we are so busy but no real communication has to be made because everyone just does the job without questions. If something needs to be done, everyone will jump in. It is well known to our guest that they will see our GM running food and sweeping. We are a total team! What is a typical day like for you at the company? Clocking in. Everyone from management to coworkers asking how you are doing. Good, bad. Indifferent, everyone is happy to see you. Given updates on any 86’ed items (usually never happens unless a supply issue), cleaning tasks for the day. Given information on where/if we can improve and positive feedback. Everyone works total team, get the job done to the best of our ability. Assuring guest satisfaction is a must but coworkers keep each other smiling through out the shift. Reset and clean up, restock everything before the next shift. I leave tired but never a question if I did a good job or doubt my job or coworkers. We are a total team so I can leave with confidence and pride that I work at Red Robin!
