Seagen has a solid and sturdy foundation filled with respectful and super friendly people. Everyone was willing to help each other and collaborates well through projects. I loved all my bosses and coworkers whilst there, and learnt a great deal. The company encourages you to learn and also has many available knowledge resources for you to benefit from. Had I not changed my career field, this company would have been the place to want to stay for a long time. The HR teams are very friendly and willing to help as well. Onboarding has been smooth thanks to them. Your rarely allowed to speak in meetings and things are so chaotic that people get sick a lot and take off, then when you return more chaos and finger pointing welcomes you. Beware! If you want to keep your sanity and health proceed with caution. Additionally, I have been treated better at SeaGen that I have with any of the other companies I have ever worked for. They have an open culture, they promote different opinions and lifestyles, and they hire only the best for their workforce and pay them accordingly. As an all companies, there are certainly people who are “not as good“ as others, but they are definitely few and far between. My manager is certainly one of the best I’ve ever had. His manager is in the top two of senior management I’ve had to work with. The executive team is top-notch, open, and has their employees and their customers best interest in mind. Career advancement nonexistent. Though a veneer of diversity exists, at the top, it’s an old boys club, especially in commercial area. Many people attend meetings but it seems only a few ever speak or influence actual decisions. Many many good people have left. Science driven company Work life balance is poor. I used to work for SEAGEN through a contracting company. Everything seemed fine, at first. My coworkers were awesome but the management is straight up evil. During my employment I lost my apartment and was forced to move my family into a motel. I was able to hide the fact that I was homeless but when SEAGEN found out, they terminated my contract and my contracting company fired me. I guess a poor, struggling parent is not allowed to represent such a “prestigious” company. After losing my job, I couldn’t pay for my motel. SEAGEN literally was the reason why my family was out on the street. We are ok now, but I still hold a lot of resentment for what they did. Great coworkers. Fortunately for him, he surrounded himself with competent Assistant Managers. Unfortunately, he still micromanaged endlessly. During my year there he pushed out 3 coworkers within 90 days by firing them or them quitting. At the time their hiring was very conservative and getting full time positions approved was slow to happen. Now there are always tons of positions and I can’t speak to the current culture. When I was there it was an overall great place to work. People, culture, coffee and parking.
