Terrible company to work for
|
Worst company I have ever worked for in my life didn’t pay out pto they don’t give out raises I was fired for no reason at all. Even when I was there every day. They have powder coat ovens that don’t have exhausts on them so you breath in all of the fumes from that. The building has no ventilation. And the management is the worst I have ever delt with. It’s like all of the knock off managers that didn’t make it anywhere else work here. This place is misribale

What is the best part of working at the company?
The diversity of the underpaid grunts.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Intelligence amongst leadership is completely absent. Most leaders at Shyft have absolutely no business being a leader. They buy brand new parts in massive quantities so much of it goes straight in the dumpster. This is the most wasteful company I’ve ever worked for.
The company makes the majority of its profits from charging Isuzu storage fees for each parked truck, that’s why Charlotte is flooded with the trucks. All the employees believe that the electric vehicle at Shyft is a plan to take advantage of the government grants knowing it’s already failed.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nobody can afford to do anything. Everyone is depressed and hates it at work
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Uncomfortable to be in the presence of the almighty leaders.

The crew. Most of them are great to work with.

Dealing with upper management. They set unrealistic goals and when you do not meet them they want to blame everyone else besides themselves for not hitting your target goals.

Low wages, Low skill workers

Wages don't keep up with inflation. Low wages for engineers compared to area. Engineering and production don't communicate well. Always fixing designs rather than improving to a better one. Always fixing a product from the past to run it in the present with no plan for the future.

terrible managers, layoffs left and right, super toxic workplace, I’m happy I made the jump to a better position at a better company. Avoid the quality department at all costs. The supervisors aren’t interested in helping this company succeed much less their employees!

Clean working environment. Employees are friendly.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No job security at all! I hired in thinking there was a future working with the company. At the interview I asked about layoffs and was told only for one week possible because of inventory. After about 45 days all most the whole department was layoff indefinitely. This seems to be a common practice with this company. I felt really bad for my coworkers one week before Christmas and you no longer have a job. We where told employees would be moved to other departments in the shop. That didn't happen. If you read other former employees negative ratings they are kidding. Do not waste you talent or time!

Clean environment. Deceptive culture.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
10 hours a day. Steady work conditions

Toxic work environment

The entire company lacks professionalism, moral and ethics which they claim to have. This is including the HR department. They change rules and never inform employees and simply state they don’t have too. They do not uphold everyone to the same standards. Unless you plan on getting in with the bosses you’ll never climb within the company and will constantly have a target on your back. HR turns a blind eye to problems brought to them by any employees
