Difficult to get into loss control without experience but they trained me. The system
They used was how many stops you made. At a municipality you could knockout 7 stops in a single day and pretty much be done working for the week if you are caught up.

Enjoyed the people. The work was a little dull but overall it’s an accounting job what can you expect. Great company benefits and the campus is beautiful. Enjoyed having the gym on site.

Overwork, unrealistic expectations, lack of training are the norm.
|
In underwriting overwork is normal. Standard hours are 37.5; however, 50-60 hours were needed to stay slightly behind. As people leave work is pushed up. No system or process training provided. Clubby atmosphere. Little collaboration. Music is played overhead all day. Management is unable to retain new, experienced underwriting employees due to unreasonable expectations and assigned workloads. It's better to be an intern or trainee and build up.

Benefits are good but they don’t reward hard workers. Training for claims needs to be reevaluated and changed. Old computer systems and technology. Good place to start a claims career but would not recommend for longevity.
